Zachary D. Smith, Research Technician

Zach joined Eltron in 2007 to work on coal gasification technology. He has studied thiol-ene polymer brushes grown from silicon nanoparticles, evaluated the kinetics of thiol-ene-methacrylate polymerizations, and designed fluidized bed reactors for atomic layer deposition. As an intern at Agilent Technologies, he developed silica packing materials for HPLC.

Prior to earning a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder (2007), Zach received a B.A. in Ancient Greek from Carleton College (1990) and worked extensively as a paramedic.
