CRAIG L. HOMRIGHAUSEN, Senior Materials Scientist
Dr. Homrighausen has primary responsibility for the development of polymers and polymer matrix composite systems that are compatible with commercialization. This includes particle filled polymer nanocomposites, high-temperature resistant fiber reinforced polyimide, epoxy and cyanate ester resins for satellite, aircraft engine, electronics, gas and oil applications, or other demanding areas where high-performance and cost of ownership are prime concerns. Dr. Homrighausen has accumulated seven years of experience in the design, synthesis and characterization of polymeric materials, including formulation and processing, development of structure property relationships for both polymeric and composite systems, and characterization of their mechanical and physical properties.
Prior to joining Eltron Research Inc., Dr. Homrighausen was employed for the Naval Research Laboratory from 1999 to 2001. He worked on the development of a new class of high-temperature resistant elastomeric materials for use in specialized naval aircraft applications. His research included development of new synthetic routes to novel inorganic-organic hybrid materials, development of structure-function relationships for high-temperature resistant polymeric materials, and characterization of their thermal properties.
Dr. Homrighausen received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati in 1999.
